For years, I wondered if moving to NYC was something I needed to be pursuing. Career opportunities were scarce in my home and I knew that the big city encompassed everything I was looking for. Well, 4 months after asking myself, AGAIN, if I should move to NYC, I got a job offer I couldn't refuse. Did it just drop on my lap? No, I worked my network hard until I was able to find something suitable, and I'm really glad I did. I've been living in NY for 4 months now and life is good.
Things I like:
- Always something to do
- Great job
- My dog is here with me
- New people/cultures
- Being queer is OK
Things I don't like:
- I miss my family
- Eating healthy isn't as easy as I thought it would be
- I don't have many friends yet
I've done many a cool thing since I moved here, and it still feels like I have so much more to do, but I do like staying home, too. NYC is a fun, dynamic city, but I need my 8hrs of sleep...
